Kate added these words on Jun 01 10 at 12:19 pmi’m also concerned with the wedding hair… i have a very general idea of what i’d like to do (loose, romantic, nothing fussy). bangs may create unforeseen problems.
bo added these words on Jun 01 10 at 12:37 pmi love the looks of the bangs in the second and third photo. i’m going to be in LA in june, will see my hair stylist and also debating whether i should get bangs then. i wonder if they will bother me in the summer? tough decisions!
Coquette & Dove added these words on Jun 01 10 at 12:53 pmNoooooooooo! Don’t post things like this!! I’m finally growing my bangs out, and now I keep seeing pictures like this and I think about cutting them back in again.
Aaaaaaaaaaarrrggh!!
alexismaia added these words on Jun 01 10 at 12:53 pmI love bangs! I have a long running love/hate affair with them and with short hair. I love a short bob with long bangs. Then I think; maybe I’d look good with long hair and darn these bangs are driving me crazy! So I grow it all out and just when they’re grown out I thinkāI would look so cute with bangs! Le sigh.
michelle @ pretty mommy added these words on Jun 01 10 at 12:58 pmwell, i’ve had bangs since birth and love them but they are definitely a commitment…and the one time I had trouble with them was the day before my wedding when my hairdresser chopped them a bit too short and now I curse everytime I look at those pictures !
Erin added these words on Jun 01 10 at 1:22 pmI cut mine about a year ago. I’ve been okay with them, but I want to grow them back but they drivie me nuts whenever they get long enough to get in my eyes. So they’re cute, but they make me a little crazy.

audrey added these words on Jun 01 10 at 1:35 pmYou are unbelievably sweet!
Thank you so much for including me.
casey added these words on Jun 01 10 at 1:57 pmi recently cut heavy brow length bangs a month ago and love them. they make me feel a tad more stylish.
as for the wedding hair, maybe bangs that are a little longer and could be swooped to the side like the last image?
Eryka added these words on Jun 01 10 at 2:02 pmI think you should go for it — but yes, be careful about doing it pre-wedding. I cut my hair off to basically my chin (shortest length ever) and then got engaged a week later.

Madeline @ Uber Chic for Cheap added these words on Jun 01 10 at 2:38 pmI have had bangs for a few years now, and I don’t think I’ll ever grow them out, I think they fit my face. They have gotten progressively heavier and more blunt with time, and I love them. They definitely take more time to do, but it’s a sacrifice I am willing to make.
Good luck deciding and I love the images you chose!
seleta added these words on Jun 01 10 at 5:39 pmIt’s strictly a function of geometry; this was wittingly pointed out to me by a famous stylist once.
It goes like this: if the vertical distance from the top of your forehead to the top of your eyebrows equals the vertical distance from your cheekbone to your chin, then your face is proportionate and therefore you’re good with bangs. OR if your forehead is a little longer and you need the coverage to balance out your face proportions, then you’re good with bangs.
An added bonus is if your best facial features are your mouth and nose because that’s what bangs highlight.

Haydee added these words on Jun 01 10 at 7:25 pmI just had a bout with should I or shouldn’t I-itis as well concerning bangs. Something tells me you should go for it.
Kate added these words on Jun 01 10 at 8:30 pmyou guys are awesome!!! great advice. seleta- i love that quote about bangs- it makes total sense!
I am leaning towards a longer bang style. I think that would be a more functional and less risky. my hair grows fast and wedding is in october.
i’ll be taking all of your advice to my hair stylist, we’ll see what she thinks about the symmetry of my face! lol!
Jennifer added these words on Jun 01 10 at 10:04 pmI hadn’t had bangs since I was in grade school, many moons ago. I took the plunge again a few years ago, and I would never go back to life without them. My straight hair is now somewhere between chin and ear length, with razor-cut ends that sort of flip outwards. I’ve been averaging at least two compliments per month for a loong time. I love love love my bangs!
Jensen added these words on Jun 01 10 at 10:28 pmI’m definitely all for bangs, even if they are frustrating at times. I think it’s mostly because I’ve never found a way to pull them off with my ridiculously curly hair, so I live vicariously through people with bangs. Whenever my friends are in this dilemma I always encourage them to cut! But as always, cut bangs that suit your style/face.
Sarah added these words on Jun 02 10 at 6:36 amI love bangs. I’ve had them since high school and each time I try to changes things up by growing them back out, I just get re-converted and cut them again.
cathiehong added these words on Jun 02 10 at 10:39 amYES to bangs, always!! i think everyone looks better with bangs
they’re worth the extra effort — and they’re super easy to pin back with bobby pins

abby added these words on Jun 02 10 at 11:06 ami say go for it and pick up one of those cutesy, sweat-wicking, circular bandana things for your noggin when running. super easy and i’ve liked it best after the last two years with bangs. woohoo!
daily mix LA added these words on Jun 02 10 at 11:48 amhaha how funny i just posted the same exact question a couple of days ago!
i say go for it…i love the look.
Caroline @ youngDCliving added these words on Jun 02 10 at 3:42 pmI’m one of the few girls out there who didn’t have bangs growing up, and I finally was brave enough to try them about a year ago…and I love them! They drive me insane when I’m trying to exercise (is there a cuter way to keep them out of your face than just bobbypinning them back?), but otherwise they’re great

Ashley added these words on Jun 03 10 at 2:52 pmoh how i wish i had the guts to make the “bang plunge”. been thinking about it for a year or more. but my curly locks might pose a problem…..so bangless i remain. perhaps i’ll get the courage

Ariel added these words on Jun 03 10 at 3:33 pmI recently cut bangs. I really just have a love hate thing going on though….somedays I love them so so much and other days I just hate them. But I say do it! Hair will always grow back.
Natasha added these words on Jun 03 10 at 5:36 pmLove them! I just went for it a few months ago with the inspiration of Zooey Deschanel in mind. They make your hair easier to do, not harder. Just blow dry those and put the rest up in a bun for work or leave it loose for play. It looks like you spent more time than you really did.
Plus the attention is to die for!
The Beauty Philosopher added these words on Jun 04 10 at 6:25 amWhat a BEAUTIFUL selection of images. So fresh and classy. I really really love this blog by the way – only just discovered it but it is a delight to ‘wander’ through.
Anne @ The City Sage added these words on Jun 04 10 at 11:53 amOh yes, I have serious bangs issues. Love them on others, get them for myself, HATE THEM and end up pinning them back for months until they grow out. Plus I have this odd little cowlick that requires me to style the bangs every morning if I want them to fall properly.
And yet here I am, once again, considering getting them. Do I never LEARN?!?!
Nicole Sylianteng added these words on Jun 06 10 at 3:49 amI got bangs around a year and a half ago, when I noticed how cute one of my friends’ hair always was. My hair in comparison was always just… there. Because of this observation, I learned that your hair it an accessory and can add so much to your look without much effort. And so I clipped some pictures, went to the salon, and got my bangs. I’m so glad I did this because it always looks cute whether my hair’s down or up. I especially like the longer side bangs that frame my face when my hair is up. Bangs grow out fast though and can be annoying especially if there are parts that just won’t stay with the rest, and fall in your eyes. I’m Asian so my hair is pretty thick and not as malleable as finer Caucasian hair. So I say get the bangs. If they get annoying, then grow them out, but you probably should just get it out of your system.
photohogger added these words on Jun 07 10 at 10:42 amI love bangs. Looks cute on almost everyone!
I am currently growing mine out but really tempted to get them cut again, especially after this post!!
Love your blog!-photohogger
nichole added these words on Jun 07 10 at 8:18 pmAfter about ten years of super long hair, with no bangs, I took the plunge last year and got long-ish, side-swept bangs. I loved them instantly and have been going shorter and shorter. It definitely suits my face better, and I think I look more youthful with them.
I’d say go for it!
