chalk it up

i’m a big fan of chalkboard paint. i even have a can of it ready to be applied to an old vintage frame (still trying to find the time to do that).

so naturally- i was gaga over these images from the anthropologie july catalog over a poppytalk. what a gorgeous way to add a little imagination to a room. take a look at the rest of the images over at poppytalk!

Anthropologie always has the best photos! Chalkboard paint makes for the most fun projects though. Can’t wait to see your vintage frame!

I love it too! So useful in a kitchen too.

Have you seen the movie 500 Days of Summer? Joseph Gordon-Levit (love of my life!) ‘s character has a chalkboard wall behind his bed. I drooled (and not just over JGL!)

GAH! I absolutely loved the chalkboard wall in 500 Days of Summer! It’s inspired me to do one wall in our bedroom in the chalkboard paint (doing the other walls in white with horizontal white stripes – tone on tone). I love the idea that my boyfriend and I can write notes to each other, keep tallies of stuff…if you know what I mean, and doodle! My only concern is that all of the writing and doodling may make a mess!

I’ve also seen where people take animal sculptures (think of the goose your crazy old neighbor lady would put in her yard as decoration, or piggy bank) and paint them with the chalkboard paint. Fun Fun!
