a monday hello ( + a little good doing)

hello from san francisco! i’m currently sprawled out on my hotel couch, catching up on email, tending to an unflattering sunburn, and enjoying a little glass of white wine. this state of relaxation feels amazing, considering the whole slew of things that came up unexpectedly last week. i’ll spare you the details but i can tell you that posting will be light this week, as we are on a photo shoot with an aggressive timeline, and limited internet access. i’ll try my best to find some time to pop in when i can! and if bay area readers have any suggestions for a great spot for saturday brunch, i would be forever grateful. we’ll be right smack in the middle of downtown.

lastly, please take a few minutes to help out Women’s World Health Initiative stay in the running to receive a $20,000 grant from Chase Community Giving on Facebook. Click here to vote! they need your vote by tonight to stay in the running. help them continue their commitment to provide relief, medical care, education, and empowerment to women in developing countries.

have a fantastic monday!

welcome to san francisco, miss kate! i apologize in advance for the gray skies – this is our classic july landscape. nevertheless, we have endless brunch options for you in our food obsessed city {it’s also my favorite meal of the day} :)

if you need to stay in the heart of downtown, cafe de la presse and chez papa are my faves. but, if you can sneak out past the downtown madness, i would either head to 1) the ferry building for a divine brunch @ boulettes larder or 2) the famed mission district restos – tartine (long lines) or mission beach cafe (takes resies).

hope you have a glorious week!

I am sunburned too! Woof. Maybe a batch of Jote’s new cocktail will help ease the pain?

I hope all is okay + that you have a great time while you are in SF — stop by Madeleine’s if you have a chance — it’s a girly, charming cafĂ© :)

May I suggest MaMa’s (which usually has a wait but is totally worth it) or Olea (their local blue bottle coffee and custard french toast is a must).

Hope you enjoy SF, despite the gloomy (as per usual) July and August weather!

Welcome to the Bay area madam!

Here are some little treasured I’ve discovered since I moved here last August…

*best ice cream: Bi-rite Creamery in the Mission (the honey lavender & salted caramel are super delish)

*fave restaurants: Chez maman and Chez papa in Potrero Hill. These little French bistros will leave you swooning for days

*best shopping: Candystore Collective, Belljar, and Behind the Post Office (bring a credit card or two :)

Hope you enjoy your visit, and best of luck with work.
