when it comes to prints and patterns, i tend to gravitate towards stripes or dots. but since spring is here and floral prints seem to be everywhere, i’ve put together a few flowery images to inspire new ways to incorporate floral into my warehouse and home. have you guys embraced the floral trend? i have one or two summery dresses that i plan to live in this season.
Grouping 1): miss capricho’s watercolors on flickr, lauren moffat spring 2010, vintage pillows, this wedding, this chair, floral skirt, letterpressed coasters, kitschy glassware, crazy floral print sofa, floral bonjour mon coussin pillow, mood room paintings at natural curiosities, jocelyn warner wallpaper, girard card from velocity, paul smith oxfords.
Grouping 2) lauren moffat spring 2010, antique roses, floral pouf, floral +military shorts, floral garland, danska’s flower pictures, we heart it: 1, 2, 3,

i love these delicate flower arrangements in eclectic containers. wouldn’t these be so pretty on little tables with crisp white linens?

this is a trend that i already know won’t work on me- but i love it on fancy jcrew models. has anyone out there been brave enough to rock this look? it’s definitely not for everyone but i admire those fierce enough to pull it off.
(i love the gold and orange color combo!)

this is one of those homes that just makes my jaw drop because it’s original, relaxed, eclectic, cozy, lived in, and stylish all at once. and while i usually gravitate towards more polished spaces- this one speaks to my inner funk.
the design duo’s home in portland was shot for domino’s march 2007 issue and i’ve kept a little post-it note in my copy ever since. these images still resonate with me the same way they did 3 years ago, so i did a little internet scouring to find a few additional images of the space. i found a few gems on apartment therapy and i was thrilled to see the current state of the meyers home; same general aesthetic, with some very inspiring updates! check out the rest of their portfolio here.

hi everyone!
i’ve heard from a few people that there has been some trouble submitting comments and what not. currently, when you input your info (where it says “name” “email” and “website”) the text doesn’t clear automatically like it does on blogger and typepad. sorry about this. you have to manual delete it, which is a pain. i love hearing from you and visiting your blogs, so i’m working on a solution… as soon as i consult with my web guy…er… my fiance, otherwise known as the super-busy-electrical-engineer-grad-student-who-can-kind-of-code.
we’ll see when he has time to give me a hand.
while i’m talking about blog stuff, there are a few things to look for in the coming weeks. 1. a search bar (yay! even i’m getting annoyed trying finding old posts) and 2.our very own url! i purchased www.witanddelight.com this week! YAY! the blog will update here and at the new address until i officially change my last name in october.
so feel free to email me if you see any other glitches while you visit- i’m always looking for ways to improve this little site.
that’s all. sleep tight everyone!

i’ve talked about pretty bicycles in the past… here… here… and here. i’m excited to tell you that yesterday i became the proud owner of my very own! my friend anna sent me a link to a little vintage cruiser for sale on craigslist for a reasonable price. 2 hours later, i had myself a pretty bicycle!
the bike looks a lot like this green one. i can’t wait to ride!

i think i am the last person to have found bobo choses. i came across the french children’s clothing company last week and when i went to blog about it, i found that many of you have the same fondness for their styling as i do! i just couldn’t resist sharing it again.

happy monday everyone! i’m feeling super refreshed this week after a long-ish weekend of beautiful spring weather. i worked from home on friday and enjoyed watching the thunderstorms roll through the city from my bedroom window. the rest of the weekend was filled with loads of leisurely activities: cooking a prosciutto, mozzarella, and white truffle pizza, thrifting for weddingy things, laughing with my sister at the whippy dip, celebrating an engagement and enjoying the emergence of spring with an outdoor easter brunch. I hope you enjoyed yours!

these pictures are too pretty not to share on a day like today. check out the rest of the set at green wedding shoes. i hope everyone is enjoying easter sunday as much as i am!

it has been so wonderful seeing some new faces around here this week! many of your blogs are new to me and i can’t wait to find a big chunk of time this weekend to devourer them all. i had big plans to compile a list of weekend links but i’ve been too busy slashing tasks off my to-do list and jumping into some fun projects for work. i hope everyone has planned something enjoyable for this weekend! i’m taking a little road trip to decorah, iowa tomorrow to see my grandparents, mother and sister. have a great one. xo
(i’m really bad. i don’t have a link to this image. i’ll post it when i finally track it down, i promise.)
image from the book “She…”- which looks to be full of wonderful, sane advice. thank you Coquette & Dove for the link!

i love these two colors together, yet i don’t think i own one thing in either shade. (well, i think i have a bright pink clutch that sat in sticky pools of beer on bar tables in college, so that doesn’t count.) nonetheless- these two colors were made for each other! wouldn’t this be such a pretty color palette for a june wedding?
sources:bold ikat pant from calypso / lovely color combo / chunky jewels / “a” print by house industries / vibrant ranunculus / kate spade pencil case / colorful candy / bright patterns from bennet schneider / book cover by paul rand / marimiko patterned umbrella / shiny gift bag from kate’s papier / cheery typography (no idea where i got this image- shoot me a link if you know!)

… when i tell them we’ve been collecting mismatched china for our wedding in october. i hear things like “so.. the plates are NOT going to match?” and “isn’t that a huge pain in the ass?”. and i politely answer those questions with “yes and yes”.
but look at this —>
makes all the trouble seem totally worth it, right? i found these images at lanalou, a blog i discovered on city sage last night. be sure to check out the rest of the image set over at lanalou, her blog is amazing!

ok, this is one of those i-wish-i-thought-of-that moments! check out this adorable save the date over at FPO. the couple got engaged in paris and in true parisian style, they took inspiration from (one of my favorite) french films, the red ballon. and boom! totally unique save the dates. they’re so simple and so perfect. design was created by the couple, who runs L’Office Optimiste.

my wardrobe lacks color, but i like my accessories to pack a little visual punch. these new pieces are great for airy spring clothing. find them at creatures of comfort (clearly i’m a little obsessed).

i want one of these.
i can afford one of these.
i’m the girl that can always pick out the expensive outfit in those splurge vs. steal columns in magazines. i guess i have that same talent when it comes to bicycles, which i know next to nothing about.
alas- the “steal” version wins hands down in this face off. I do love that wooden handle bar and the *gorgeous* leather seat… but the FastBoy starts at $2200 and the Republic bike at $399! Kind of a no-brainer, huh?
and just for fun, look at these hotties:
