A Brand New Week

Friends, it was slow going this Monday. The weekend was a mix of work and play, gorgeous weather, birthdays to celebrate, and benefits to attend. It may have taken multiple cups of coffee to feel like a functioning human being, but it was well worth it. Considering the amount of time spent behind the computer lately, it’s amazing I still have somewhat acceptable social graces.

A few highlights:

your tea time

Sanctuary T wants to know what your tea time looks like. the photography project “your tea time“, showcases photography from people around the world, enjoying their tea. it sure looks tasty.

i admit it- i obsessively snaps shots of my daily eats, so this project is right up my alley. i also have a soft spot for teatime- it was one of my favorite things about living in london. these photos bring me back to chilly afternoons with tea and book in hand. sounds like a good way to spend my friday afternoon, no?

take a look at the submissions here, they’re lovely.

Cavalier Essentials

“If Steve McQueen carried a beat-up leather duffle bag on the back of his motorcycle; what would be in it and how would the products look?”

This idea is at the center of Cavalier Essentials, a project initiated by Taylor Pemberton, a Minneapolis-based designer. I love everything about the idea behind this product line. Taylor describes Cavalier Essentials “as a line of vintage products designed for the rugged, yet sophisticated gentleman.”

Cavalier Essentials is not currently available for purchase, but I’m looking forward to the impending launch.

pin of the week

minnesota temps dipped into the single digits this weekend and i swear you can feel the holidays peaking around the corner. i’m armed and ready to greet this season with a pair of warm socks, hot coffee, and a good book.

pintrest is positively addictive.

i don’t know what pintrest means exactly, but the bookmarking website is quickly becoming my favorite place to waste an inordinate amount of time. most of my pins never end up on my blog, so i’m going to borrow this idea from bonnie and begin pinning my favorite pin of the week. cool with you? hope so.

if you haven’t gotten in on the pinning action- shoot me an email and i’ll send you an invite. i’ve got ten of ‘em.

a few shots…

…from my iphone

we are wrapping up in mendocino this afternoon and heading back to sf for two more days. i’m a little sad to be leaving this place, all of the fresh air and sunshine has felt so, so good. we’re working hard to reward ourselves with some shopping, eating, and exploring in the next two days.

white to ivory, and all shades between

i can’t get enough of these tranquil images. using shades of white and ivory aren’t just a trend for interiors, you can find the soft shades used everywhere from printing techniques, to identity systems, to couture fashion.

i gave in.

i ordered this piglet print at 20×200 (right at the end of the spending hiatus- whoops!). i’ve been a fan of photographer Sharon Montrose for quite sometime so I was eager to own a print of my own.
