another busy day here! nick and i are off to the court house to get our marriage license and grab a celebratory lunch. woo hoo!

i’ve been obsessing over feminine, vintage-inspired undergarments lately. these spotted on everything fabulous are at the tipy-top of my list.

i made a valiant effort to write a post yesterday, but i just couldn’t get it right. hopefully today goes better. or maybe tomorrow. but i wanted to give you a little somethin’ somethin’ while i organize my thoughts- so here you go. a gold sparkly dress with loafers. it is off the wall and i love it.
did anyone else become really bored with traditional wedding images during a long engagement?
alright, i’m off.

forgive me for the infrequent posting this week. after months of procrastinating, i’ve finally revisited the to-do list for our wedding. since most of the big decisions have been worked out, we’re having a wonderful time refining the little details. nick has a sharp new wardrobe, the invitations are coming along nicely, and we’re brainstorming some really delicious signature cocktails. yum!
if you have any suggestions for cocktails that would be good for an october wedding- lemme know! that raspberry mint cocktail is calling my name right now…

thanks to rachel of elephantine for bringing me some amazing eye candy this morning.

p.s: and while we are on the topic of monqiue lhuiller, i have a confession. i haven’t had dress envy until i saw this beauty on pretty mommy. i LOVE everything about this dress…

i’m signing off early to catch up on some last minute errands before i leave town for a dear friend’s wedding. it’s the first wedding of the season for me and i’m super excited to see these two get hitched. so i hand-picked a few pictures from one of my all-time favorite weddings. they make a rainy day look so good, i actually WANT it to rain on my wedding day.
so in honor of the soon-to-be Mrs. R, here are four lovely wedding themed links:
+ i love this diy necklace the lovely mrs. broke-ass bride created on 100 layer cake.
+ this one year anniversary post at size too small is so pretty.
+ coveting these lovely underpinnings over at kendall k.
+ i die for these metallic gold shoes.
plus two things non-weddingy:
+ i want her outfit. and to maybe have blond hair for one day. just to see how it feels. (and for the record… i know i’d be one heinous blond!)
+ i could not stop laughing reading this. haydee from happenstance shared this site and i was up until the wee hours of the morning reading this, laughing and snorting like a crazy person. her drawings are great!
and i can’t sign off for the weekend without saying how much fun it has been seeing some new faces around here this week. you guys are so awesome, and by the way, thank you for introducing yourselves- you have some truly amazing blogs.

i can’t get enough of these tranquil images. using shades of white and ivory aren’t just a trend for interiors, you can find the soft shades used everywhere from printing techniques, to identity systems, to couture fashion.

hello friends. it seems that work projects and a busy social life have kept us apart for a few days! on top of the usual hustle bustle at work, we’ve reached the 6 month milestone in our wedding planning. the reality of our to-do list is setting in and all of these big plans i’ve made need to become real projects and i need to actually start them. which is exciting, daunting and so much fun.
so… this is your warning: things might get a little wedding heavy over here for the next few months and i hope i don’t completely annoy you all with it. i can’t say i didn’t warn you.
so why the pretty pink pictures? i’m not really sure. i found a few of these in my wedding inspiration folder and i still like them, even though there’s nothing about them that relates our wedding. so, i hope you like them too.

i love these delicate flower arrangements in eclectic containers. wouldn’t these be so pretty on little tables with crisp white linens?

… when i tell them we’ve been collecting mismatched china for our wedding in october. i hear things like “so.. the plates are NOT going to match?” and “isn’t that a huge pain in the ass?”. and i politely answer those questions with “yes and yes”.
but look at this —>
makes all the trouble seem totally worth it, right? i found these images at lanalou, a blog i discovered on city sage last night. be sure to check out the rest of the image set over at lanalou, her blog is amazing!

ok, this is one of those i-wish-i-thought-of-that moments! check out this adorable save the date over at FPO. the couple got engaged in paris and in true parisian style, they took inspiration from (one of my favorite) french films, the red ballon. and boom! totally unique save the dates. they’re so simple and so perfect. design was created by the couple, who runs L’Office Optimiste.

… i love that the fabric feels like the feather included in their invitations….

The majority of these went out the middle of this week. We still have a handful more to put together but I couldn’t resist putting them up.
