i LOVE these cards.
(hey girlfriends- this post is for you!)

+ i keep coming back to images of these high waisted khakis. so hot on tall, skinny ladies. so steve urkel on me and my short torso. doesn’t she look great in them? i haven’t given up hope yet. just need to find the right pair.
+ it is no secret that i think j crew’s jewelry line is impeccable. i’m crossing my fingers that these will still be around when my new budget has a little more wiggle room.
+ i don’t need another pair of wayfarers, but like the shape of these sunglasses.
+ i don’t think i could ever have enough of these sheer tanks. my summer wardrobe staple.
UPDATE: if you’ve been having trouble viewing this site the past few days, please let me know. we’ve been having some spotty issues with our server. my apologies!

i spent last night sprawled out on the couch, wearing my baggiest sweats, reading fashion mags with a facial mask on, blaring the latest episode of glee, eating cheez-its and ice cream for dinner. it was glorious.
it’s not that i don’t do these types of things when nick is home. i’ve scared him to death walking around with a white facial mask on, he does know what a pumice stone is, and we agree to disagree over the need to have different lotions for feet, hands, face, and body.
but doing all of this indulgent pampering (and vegging out) completely alone, feels so, so good. while i may become annoying and whine a bit when nick is away from home, i have decided to look at the bright side and enjoy the freedom to do those girl things, without a freaked-out-but-intrigued guy gawking at me while i pluck my brows.

so, yeah. we’ve all seen this flippin’ ridiculous sneak peek at design*sponge today. i need that headboard, duvet, trunk, suitcase, and those amazing warehouse windows. to put it bluntly, i love everything that is going on here. and where can i get one of those awesome light bulb chandeliers? hey-nick, wanna make one for me? pretty, pretty please?
oh, and happy monday!

i’m signing off early to catch up on some last minute errands before i leave town for a dear friend’s wedding. it’s the first wedding of the season for me and i’m super excited to see these two get hitched. so i hand-picked a few pictures from one of my all-time favorite weddings. they make a rainy day look so good, i actually WANT it to rain on my wedding day.
so in honor of the soon-to-be Mrs. R, here are four lovely wedding themed links:
+ i love this diy necklace the lovely mrs. broke-ass bride created on 100 layer cake.
+ this one year anniversary post at size too small is so pretty.
+ coveting these lovely underpinnings over at kendall k.
+ i die for these metallic gold shoes.
plus two things non-weddingy:
+ i want her outfit. and to maybe have blond hair for one day. just to see how it feels. (and for the record… i know i’d be one heinous blond!)
+ i could not stop laughing reading this. haydee from happenstance shared this site and i was up until the wee hours of the morning reading this, laughing and snorting like a crazy person. her drawings are great!
and i can’t sign off for the weekend without saying how much fun it has been seeing some new faces around here this week. you guys are so awesome, and by the way, thank you for introducing yourselves- you have some truly amazing blogs.

the elle blog did a feature on leopard print accessories this evening, and i’m loving this image of our favorite fashion icons rocking the print. leopard is really big for fall, and as elle so beautifully illustrates, the print has definitely become a classic.

one of the benefits of moving to a new home is having the opportunity to take inventory of the things you’ve collected over time. for many years, i was really, really into shoes. i bought them in such quantity that when i got my own apartment, they had their own closet. i would carefully display them and admire with great self-satisfaction, how mighty fine they all looked as a collective whole.
but with the wedding coming up, i’ve made some decidedly adult-ish financial changes. with a heavy heart, i slashed my credit cards and set a new budget, which just doesn’t have the room for shoe purchases. so i took a look through my collection after the move. folks- things are looking grim. I have a few pristine beauties amongst a modest selection of neutral pumps and metallic flats. an embellishment here and there. a pair of kick ass motorcycle boots and summery striped espadrilles. but many of my old favorites look really sad and need a trip to the shoe repairman. i fear that many of them are not salvageable.
so you can only imagine the stew of jealously and self-pity brewing in my stomach when i see images like these. the color! the variety! the unexpected patterning! omg that heel! the flipping awesomeness of those pradas! miu miu, i heart you! I feel delight. joy. then i might whimper a bit, shed some tears, which are likely followed by a crippling depression.
just kidding. but it goes something like that.
so these images are all i’ve got these days. send me your drool-worthy shoe blogs, people. i’m a woman with problem. i do realize this post probably doesn’t make much sense, although it does give you a peek at the delirium of my retail-addiction withdrawal. why don’t we just file this post under the “oddities” category and be done with it. rant, over.

We’re talking about what makes a perfect picnic over at Cup of Jo. Stop over and join the conversation!

i’m obsessed with the idea of having bangs…again. i haven’t had them since college, and while they were cute, i cursed every time i had to pin them back before a run. but maybe i’ve matured enough to handle the extra attention they need. they’re just so flipping adorable. adorable enough to accept the fact that i would be inconvenienced by them now and then.
what do you think: to cut or not to cut? anyone out there loving or hating their decision to rock some bangs?

happy monday everyone! i hope the weekend was/is as lovely as ours. i’m taking today off to finish moving (and hopefully to catch a few hours of sunshine). i am going to be doing a few guest posts over at Cup of Jo this week, check them out here! Joanna will be having guest bloggers the month of June, but she’ll be popping in to say hello (and to post some cute Toby pics! Yay!)

happy weekend friends! i hope you all have something wonderful planned. nick and i are gearing up for another move. we are staying in the same building but moving into a much larger apartment. i’ll even have my own little office and closet (!)- which i am dying to organize/decorate. we’re also hoping to spend some quality time with old friends, whip together a bbq or two, watch some baseball, and break in the new place.
enjoy your weekend…take some time to relax and enjoy the first few days of summer.

i think i need to get a shade of red-orange lipstick. it’s a little difficult to find the right shade with my dark hair and light skin, but i’m determined to find one that works.
(i love the color the jcrew gals wear in this months catalog…)

love these nautical pieces from CXXVI Clothing Co.

…but HOW am i months behind seeing this awesome doily!? want. need. must have.

i’ve collected patterns from the inside of envelopes for about a year now. so you are right to assume that i’d squeal with joy if i received these beauties in the mail.
found on size too small via hello jenuine.
(psst…. you can find a great collection of security patterns from envelopes here.)

incredible.

woof. thank goodness it’s friday. my brain is total mush from scrambling to meet a deadline at work.
i wish i had a few links for you this week- but i don’t. instead, i give you a few images i saved from built by wendy. practical items that would get a lot of love from yours truly. i love the bowl-of-fruit tee. no idea why- i just love it.
